Workers on a shipyard in Okpo-dong, South Korea have super human strength, thanks to a new robotic suit.
Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering Co, the company that makes some of the biggest ships in the world, was testing the robotic suits last year.
They can reportedly fit people between 63 and 73 inches tall, and allow the person wearing it to easily lift a 70-pound piece of metal.
The suit frame itself is made of aluminum alloy, carbon, and steel all powered by hydraulic joints.
It weighs 60 pounds, but it doesn’t feel heavy because the suit supports its own weight, and moves along with the person wearing it.
People strap into the suit starting with their feet, moving up their body, where hydraulic joints and electric motors are connected to a backpack that powers and controls the system.
Eventually, the developers want people wearing the suit to be able to lift 200 pounds, which will increase productivity by allowing workers to easily lift large, heavy pieces of metal.
